Anti-inflammatory Oatmeal

1 cup rolled oats
1.5 cups water
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp hemp hearts


Combine all ingredients in a saucepan and cook until done.
Alternatively, cook on high for 1:30 in a microwave.

Garnish with fresh fruit (I love apple slices!) and coconut milk.


I keep a jar of this on my desk at work. That way, I just have to bring my own fruit and coconut milk, and I have a quick, healthy breakfast ready to go in a pinch. For the jar, I have about 2 cups of oatmeal, mixed with 1 tsp each of turmeric, cinnamon, and hemp hearts. The cinnamon and turmeric are what make this a great anti-inflammatory meal, while the hemp hearts add protein and healthy fat.
