Homemade mojitos (easy and healthier!)

1 handful ice cubes
1.5 oz white rum
Juice of 1/2 lime
6 -7 mint leaves
0.5 oz simple syrup (recipe in notes)
2 cups soda water


1) In tall glass, muddle mint and lime (if you don't have a muddler, I find that the handle of a wooden spoon can work)
2) Add ice, rum, and simple syrup (I find that 0.5 oz is perfect for me, but feel free to add more to your liking)
3) Top with soda water and enjoy!


For the simple syrup, simply combine 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of water in a saucepan. Bring to a boil, then allow to cool.
