What I've Learned About Wellness from Hispanic Culture

I’ve always been enthralled with Hispanic culture. When I was growing up, I loved the Spanish language and was lucky enough to have a close friend who lived in Guatemala. Each time she’d come to visit, I loved hearing stories about her homeland, and was excited to wear whatever Mayan inspired clothing and jewelry she brought with her. It always made me feel welcome, the way she greeted everyone with a hug and a kiss rather than a handshake. From her I learned about refried beans, avocado with salt and lime, and of course fresh fruit with every meal. Throughout the years, my interest in Hispanic culture grew, and I've been lucky enough to meet wonderful people from Mexico, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Spain, and other countries - and they were all more than happy to share their food, traditions, and culture with those around them. What I've Learned About Wellness from the Moroccans

In my 10 days here, I’ve gotten a glimpse into everyday life for Moroccans. A few things have stood out for me, and I’ll likely be implementing them in my own life once I’m back home. Read More

I love the feeling of expanding my own potential in the spring, and coming out of my cocoon, so to speak. Read More

How and Why I'm Spring Cleaning my Diet this April

Spring is the perfect time of year to spring clean not only your house, but also your diet. If you’re anything like me, you probably indulged quite a bit over the holidays last year, and you may not have “gotten back on track” since then. With the (hopefully) warmer weather of April, foods like salads, smoothies, and fresh seafood will start to look more appealing. Read More

4 Healthy Habits I learned from the Europeans

Europe. It’s a beautiful continent with a long, rich history. I’ve always felt privileged to have such close ties to it, as both of my parents were raised there, and the majority of my extended family still lives there. Having visited a handful of times myself, I’ve learned that Europeans have some great health habits we could all learn from. Read More
